Patches for Microsoft SQL Server 2008
Microsoft has released new cumulative update packages for its SQL Server 2008, for installations with and without Service Pack 1 (SP1). The update packages address several bugs affecting SQL Server that could lead to the database server returning incorrect results. These include queries using the row_number function and a full-text query that combines the NEAR operator together with the AND operator.
The update packages also include a security patch that addresses a policy evaluation issue that could cause a policy to be evaluated against an incorrect target. More details about the update packages, including a list of all of the included fixes, can be found in the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 advisories.
