F-Secure releases its 2008 products

In the wake of new releases by most of the competition, F-Secure has announced the 2008 versions of its security products, which are available now. According to the vendor, the new products feature minor improvements such as a larger range of categories in the web filter of the child protection functionality and an enhanced phishing filter, but also offer a boost in performance. It was the speed – dragged down by the use of four scan engines – that attracted most criticism in the past. However, recognition rates in past c’t tests were good.

While there is nothing new about the user interface, F-Secure Antivirus 2008 is said to be faster than the prior version.

The price for a three-user license including a 12-month update service for Antivirus 2008 online is UK £25.95; a 12 month three-user license for the Internet Security product costs UK £39.95. All products will be in the shops in the last week of September.
