VLC 2.0.7 fixes regressions

The VideoLAN developers have released VLC 2.0.7 to fix some regressions in the 2.0.x branch of the popular cross-platform media player. The last update to VLC was 2.0.6 in late April. The fixes include corrections for MP3 and AAC audio encoding and audio decoding of WMA Pro, MPEG 4 ALS, APE, MLP and ADPCM-IMA4. There are also various translation updates and a fix for PowerPC machines concerning track selection.

On the security and stability front, two XSS vulnerabilities have been corrected in the VLC Web UI, a memory leak when creating AVI files has been plugged, and an issue of memory exhaustion with some playlists is fixed. The developers have also corrected a problem in the ActiveX plugin for Internet Explorer and stopped a libVLC crash on Mac OS X. VLC 2.0.7 binaries and source are available to download from the main VLC page. VLC is published under the GPLv2 or later.
