Miro 5 update also opens Olympic streams

Miro 5.0.2 in action Ahead of the start of the 2012 Olympics, the second point update to Miro 5 was published to fix several "important" bugs; it also included the release of an optional OPML file with new sources for watching this year's Summer games.

Version 5.0.2 of Miro is a maintenance update to the cross-platform open source HD Internet TV/podcast downloader and player that addresses problems that, for example, could cause the application to crash or cause errors when trying to delete multiple podcasts on Windows. Other changes include the addition of a link to the 7digital music store in the Preference area and corrections to the "Play Externally" option, which allows users to play media files in another external player such as VLC. Additionally, the Miro binaries for Mac OS X are now digitally signed.

At the same time as publishing the new release, Miro's Janet Dragojevic has also provided a special OPML file that adds four new sources for streaming the Olympic Games, which are currently taking place in London. These include NBC's Olympic streams for those in the United States and its territories, as well as the Eurovision Sports stream and the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) Official Olympic YouTube Channel. Users can download the OPML file and import it by selecting "Import Podcasts (OPML)" from the Sidebar menu. Once the games are over, these can be removed by right clicking on each and choosing "Remove Source".
