Mandriva technology preview released
The Mandriva development team has released a technology preview of Mandriva Linux 2012. The leadership of the distribution is also working on creating an independent, non-profit foundation to take over stewardship of the project.
The Mandriva Linux 2012 Tech Preview, code-named "Bernie Lomax" after the lead character of the movie Weekend at Bernie's, is now available on the distribution's mirror network.
On the official Mandriva blog, Charles-H. Schulz, who is advising the distribution on open source and governance matters, has scheduled the first in-person meeting to initiate the creation of a foundation to govern the distribution. The meeting is to take place this week and is expected to last a full day. Schulz says he will continue to update the community on the process as decisions are made.
