AbilityNet releases bundle of open source accessibility tools

UK Charity AbilityNet has released AccessAT, a collection of open source and freeware accessibility tools. The collection is currently only available for Windows systems and is supplied on a USB pendrive. It sells for £16.99, to cover the charity's costs in collating, testing and distributing the software. The bundle addresses a wide range of accessibility issues for blind, dyslexic or physically-disabled computer users, beyond those typically supplied by the operating system.

Among the packages available are NVDA, the Thunder screenreader, magnifying utilities and screen-tinting (i.e., changing the colours of on-screen items for improved visibility). AbilityNet has been working on accessibility and adaptations for the disabled for over twenty years.
